Ken's parents live somewhere in Virginia and he's the only son. His freetime activities include motorbikes, which he has several. Ken's biological mother was a prostitute in a pirate bay and the indentity of his father is unknow although there are several likely candidates. His mother died of pneumonia after which one of her regulars who had loved her dearly took the baby in his care. And so, Ken lived the early years of his childhood in a pirate ship, Devil's Plunder, until a noble elven family adopted him after a series of events when he was 9 years old. The pirates cared for the boy and had tried to do their best for him but of course, the environment wasn't always very good for a child which is why they let her take him.

The head of the elven family is a female elf called Nmaeniniel. Nmaeniniel treated him like his own son from the very beginning and Ken cares for her like his own mother, partly because he never knew his own. Ken left home at 16 to become a dragon tamer, although he still visits often his home at The Forest of Elora. Nmaeniniel made sure he was trained in magic and swordsmanship. Ken took liking to magic and it turned out he was very talented in it (one of the reasons why Nmaeniniel took him under her wing) so he prefers it over swords. His favorite schools are Illusion, Abjuration (=protective) and Restoration although he also know several spells from other schools.

Ken met Shane one year ago and since then they have developed an intimate relationship which they have to keep a secret due to the attitudes of society on homosexuality. They work as a pair as they are both dragon tamers.
