Face-up 10: Erica, made by Purplie November 2011. I like how this turned out, it looks more like Erica than
any of her previous face-ups, at least in my opinion ^^. There are some small mistakes (like the uneven eyeliner of her right eye)
but I'm getting better all the time~

Face-up 10: here's the process.

November 2011 by Purplie. Erica had had the same coating and body blush for almost 3 years. This is how she looked like. She had
traveled in many meetings and conventions, sat almost 3 years in daylight in a vitrine and had also worn some black clothes (her underwear was black).
It was definitely time for a new blush and coating!

After several hours of hard rubbing (guh I hate that, the coating just won't come off...) she looked like this. A definite difference! She
has yellowed a bit but I don't think it looks so bad. You can notice the lines on her body if you look closely. They were left because part
of her body has been covered by clothes and she has yellowed more in some places. It doesn't bother me, though, I think it's natural aging
of the dolls :) I'm not going to hide my dolls away just because of that, I enjoy watching them in my vitrine ♥

And here's after blushing and coating. I even managed to hide some of the yellowing a bit by blushing ^^.

Summer 2011, by Purplie. Lucie's knee broke down completely. Here's the story. There was originally a ball with a resin hook on each side.
You put the elastic string going through the legs on both hooks, so there was separate string for the calves. However, the tip of the hook broke
off, so I made a small hole to the remaining appendage, put a thin but strong threat through that and attached a s-hook. The real problem began
when the whole appendage broke off leaving only the knee ball... Well, first I tried hot gluing it back, which didn't work of course, the glue was not
strong enough. Second, I tried with superglue because I hadn't anything better at hand - and that proved out to be a bad idea. I was very careful with
the glue because I didn't want it between the joint (the knee wouldn't have moved if it did go there) but the vapors from the glue suddenly assaulted
my eyes making my hand move a bit and whoops - the knee joint was glued :P I had to use some rougher weapons to separate the knee joints and the
knee took a bit of damage...

Well, after the superglue fiasco the halves of the knee joints were now separated (they weren't before, or at least I didn't try
very hard to separate them) so I could make a hole to the other
half and put a string through it and attach s-hook there.

Here's the final result of the knee surgery. Lucie has now a bit of a battle scar ;) Of course the knee isn't as sturdy as before so you have to
handle the doll a bit more carefully, however, she still stands very beatifully by herself, so that's okay. I was actually surprised how well
this solution worked! I must say this whole surgery took a bit of cold nerve, it was my darling $500 doll after all and they don't manufacture the 43cm
version anymore... I asked the manufacturer about new joints but they would have cost $100 + postage&customs which is way too expensive >_>

Face-up 9: Erica, made by Purple January 2010. New face-up for Eri, a bit more angry. I don't like this very much, it's okay but
it looks better with Eri's bangs on her forehead.

Face-up 8: Lucie, made by Purple October 2009. Maybe my best face-up so far :) Still not even nearly perfect.

Face-up 7: Shane, made by Purple may 2009. First I didn't like this but now I'm liking it more. It's a bit of dark but
still a lot better than his previous one! This is fun face-up 'cos from different direction his expression looks really different :D

Face-up 6: Erica, made by Purple may 2009. I got new brushes, really thin ones. The difference is astounding! They were so much
better than the ones I had before. Also my eyebrows are getting better ^^. I still don't like the lips...

Face-up 5: Shane, made by Purple jan 2009. I made this right after the previous one, just edited the eyelids a bit. Probably a bit too
strong make-up and I don't like the lips but otherwise okay.

Face-up 4: Shane, made by Purple jan 2009. I made Shane a new make-up but the eyelid lines were way too thin and low (I noticed
this when putting the eyes back) so I reworked this soon after.

Face-up 3: Erica, made by Purple dec 2008. First face-up for Erica! This became okay except the eyebrows which are stupid >_<
I just can't make them right...

Face-up 2: Shane, made by Purple aug 2008. This became cosiderably better than the first one. I was at my parents' and forgot
to take aquarelle pencils (watercolor pencils or whatever they are) with me so I made this with acrylics and pastels only.
I think I won't use watercolor pencils any more since this became fine without them :D

Face-up 1: Shane, made by Purple aug 2008. My first ever face-up. Kind of horrible but hey, it is the first one.

Piercing 2: Erica, made by Purple jan 2009. I made ear piercings also for Eri, three of them~

Piercing 1: Shane, made by Purple jan 2009. I made ear piercings for Shane since I finally got a nail drill.
